• Study Confirms Benefits of Integrating M&T Capabilities With Building and System Maintenance Functions
  • Enacto Software Valued For Creating Seamless Transition from M&T to Continuous Optimization

Kortrijk, Belgium, 1 March 2016 – A new study by independent analyst firm Verdantix analysing and comparing the Monitoring & Targeting (M&T) functionality of leading global energy management software solutions highlighted Honeywell’s Elster EnergyICT Enacto™ energy management solution for its ability to gather, track and analyse energy data from a facility and successfully link that functionality into building optimization and maintenance systems.

Energy management software such as Enacto is used by large organizations to track and monitor energy use in their facilities. The software helps building managers establish energy consumption targets, analyse consumption trends, and identify and validate opportunities for energy efficiency programs that reduce energy and operational costs.

According to the Verdantix report, “Still Room To Innovate: Elster EnergyICT Pushes Boundaries on Energy M&T”, Elster EnergyICT’s Enacto solution “creates a seamless transition from M&T to continuous optimization.”  The study confirms that integrating energy monitoring and targeting functionalities with building maintenance and asset maintenance capabilities enables firms to reduce operational costs. Continuous monitoring and optimization of equipment energy use and predictive maintenance scheduling will help to reduce maintenance costs and extend the life of energy-consuming assets.

Enacto successfully links M&T with building maintenance for improved facilities management. The software platform monitors the energy consumption of buildings and assets individually. Energy use is monitored for deviations against continuously updated baselines to trigger alerts and schedule 2-Elster Enacto Evaluated by Verdantix maintenance events.

“Reducing the time required to identify equipment faults and to have those faults repaired, can help reduce operational costs associated with excessive energy use and operational disruptions associated with equipment downtime,” according to the Verdantix report. “The more detailed the information used to update and track energy use baselines, the quicker the software will be able to identify operating abnormalities, leading to faster resolutions and improved efficiency.”

“Elster EnergyICT has continually sought to improve our pioneering Enacto™ software energy management solution, specifically to support the complex needs of multi-site, commercial organizations,” said Kristof Lamont, product manager energy intelligence for Elster EnergyICT. “Our energy intelligence solution is perfect for energy managers that need to reduce their utility bottom line and increase energy savings.”

Elster was acquired by Honeywell in December 2015 and is now part of Honeywell’s global Environmental & Energy Solutions business.  Learn more about Verdantix and the report.
